Designing The Ceremony
The loss of a loved one is such a painful event and a funeral ceremony can help begin the process of healing. It is a time to unite with your family and friends to share your emotions, to remember the life of your loved one and to celebrate the ways they touched your lives.
A funeral ceremony also marks the closing of a chapter in your life - it helps with acceptance of your loss and is a step towards your own healing.
I meet you (in person or online) to talk about your loved one's background, family, friends, work, hobbies, personality, beliefs and funny or touching memories. I can help with non religious funerals and partly religious services - including the music, poems, readings, (prayers and hymns if you want any). I send the Order of Service to your funeral director and lead the funeral or act as Master of Ceremonies at memorial services.
Writing A Tribute (Eulogy)
I can write the 'eulogy' and will check you are happy with it. I can speak for you on the day or help family and friends who wish to read a tribute or a poem as part of the celebration of life.
Songs & Music
You can choose any music you like - classical, rock, pop spiritual or religious. I will find and play back for you almost any music or hymn, even if you can only remember a snippet. I have led services with singers, Scottish pipers, buglers and ukulele orchestras.
Poetry
I help choose poetry for different characters, hobbies, occupations and relationships.
Prayers & Hymns
People often want a hymn or a prayer that they learnt at school and which everyone can join in. I'll bring some suggestions with me when we meet.
Popular Hymns
All things Bright & Beautiful;
Lord of All Hopefulness;
Guide Me, O' Though Great Redeemer (Bread of Heaven)
